Project Description
My friend, who is very active in Operation Christmas Child, challenged me to make wooden cars to enclose in shoe boxes that are sent to children around the world. Our goal was for cars to be small, durable, and inexpensive. I had a WoodMizer sawmill already. I saw the molder-planer at a woodworking show and Viola! an idea came to mind. I worked with the WoodMizer salesman who put me in contact with a custom knife maker. I was able to use both my WoodMizer tools to make small, durable and inexpensive cars for packing into the shoeboxes. Because of the WoodMizer tools and with the help of friends and family(for assembling the cars), we produced 10,000 cars in 2020 and are on target to produce 20,000 cars in 2021!

Finished Dimensions
3.5" long x 1.5" high x 1" wide

Money Saved
Two metrics: Priceless, in that children around the world received cars; Monetarily $5 per car (compared to similar products on Etsy)
