After completing prior commission for a family of one coffee table and two end tables, they asked if there was enough wood left over to make two kitchen counter bars chairs. In a brainstorming design session we went with the butterfly theme as the pierced back rest would blend with the tables I had already made and go with the theme of their house. To accent the abalone that I inlayed into the wings, and to go with the hand blown glass lighting I dyed the quarter sawn sycamore.
